An 18- year- old Staunton River High School student died yesterday.
Police say Jesse Clayton Cheatwood was a passenger in a pick-up, when it ran off route 24 in Bedford County and hit a tree Tuesday night.
Cheatwood was not wearing a seat belt. He was ejected from the truck and airlifted to the hospital, where he died yesterday.
Police say Lawrence Morgan Gibson was driving the truck. He is still in critical condition.
