In federal court today, the controversy centered on how the law was worded, and not the actual law itself.

State Police say Gilbert and another man broke into a Martinsville home last Monday.
When Les Hussey returned to his home, he found the two men trying to rob him.

Gilbert is free on a 20-thousand dollar bond.
The other man is still at large.

It was engulfed in flames when the first crews arrived.
Firefighters spent more than an hour trying to bring the blaze under control.

Investigators believe the blaze started near an electrical outlet in the kitchen.

Yesterday at Wimbledon it rained, today it poured, or at least it felt like that to many of the top seeded players who were washed out of the tournament in the opening round not by the precipitation, but precise play on the part of their opponents.
7th seed Mark Philippoussis, French Open champ Gustavo Kuerten, 17th seeded Jonas Bjorkman, and women's 13 seed Kimberly Po were all bounced from the tourney today

This match went five sets before Todd Woodbridge pulled off the 7-6, 3-6, 6-2, 3-6, and 8-6 victory to advance to the second round.
Pete Sampras had a much easier time in his opening match as he went airborne to beat Michael Tillstrom in straight sets.
On the women's side, top seeded Martina Hingis topped Anne Kremer 6-4 and 6-4 in her opening match.

The Miller Brewing company pulled out after last season, leaving the folks in Richmond scrambling for sponsorship dollars.
