The family of a missing Roanoke pilot says he's okay... but the search for
his plane is still underway.

Jean, the wife of the pilot, who has asked that her name not be released

that her husband is ok... she says he is in Myrtle Beach and the plane did not

But as far as we know right now, the Civil Air Patrol is STILL searching for
the aircraft between the Roanoke Regional airport and Danville.
Search planes and ground crews have been combing the area between Roanoke

A man was killed this afternoon in a bulldozer accident in Franklin County.
Two men were using bulldozers to clear a lot on this hillside off Route 116.
The larger machine was stuck, so they tried to pull it up the hill with the

A last minute effort by pro-choice advocates to block Virginia's parental

supposed to do, but has more to do with how it is WORDED.
The fate of the parental notification law could now hinge on two little
words, "may" and "shall."

The problem is, pro-choice lawyers say the word "may" is open to
interpretation... and that the law instead should read "shall".

A 21-year old Chatham man turned himself in to state police after a bungled
burglary attempt in Martinsville.
Randall Lee Gilbert faces several charges including burglary and grand
State Police say Gilbert and another man broke into a Martinsville home last
When Les Hussey returned to his home, he found the two men trying to rob
Hussey then shot Gilbert in the chest, the other man ran away.
Gilbert is free on a 20-thousand dollar bond.

The Actor best known for his role as Uncle Bill on Family Affair has died.
Brian Keith was found dead at his home in Malibu, California this afternoon.
Officials say the television star killed himself.
Reports indicate Keith had lung cancer and emphysema.
He also starred in the TV show Hardcastle and McCormick.
Brian Keith was 75 years old.
