A Delaware pilot made an emergency landing in Bedford County last night when he feared he was experiencing engine trouble.
The Single Engine Cessna landed in a field off route 1-22 about two miles south of Bedford,

Authorities say he did not appear injured and refused treatment at the scene.

Meanwhile Virginia's Civil Air Patrol has ground and air crews searching for a Roanoke man whose plane left the city just before eight Sunday Morning.
The light aircraft was heading to Clearwater, Florida but never reached its destination.
The search area includes parts of Roanoke, Bedford, Campbell, Pittsylvania, Patrick and Franklin Counties.
The Virginia civil Air Patrol is asking anyone who may have witnessed or heard the crash to contact its headquarters.

Good news on the job front -- Virginia stands to gain more than 300 jobs.
C-S-X and Norfolk Southern yesterday formally asked for federal approval of their ten- billion dollar plan to split Conrail.
The two Virginia-based railroads submitted an application with the U-S Surface Transportation Board.
A decision is NOT expected until next year.
The railroads said dividing Conrail will save money and improve shipment of cargo.
