A Virginia Tech professor teamed up with V-DOT and the town of Blacksburg to
design a more efficient bridge.
The span, on Tom's Creek Road, has beams made of graphite and fiberglass in a
vinyl resin.
Researchers hope to prove they're more durable than traditional steel beams.
