The violence claimed its first casualty when a Protestant man apparently accidentally blew himself up with an explosive device.
catholic political leaders have appealed for restraint...but at the same time are encouraging their followers to protest. A newspaper report here claims the catholic Sinn Fein party is laying plans to occupy public building and block highways.
It was also disclosed today that the British government had a report recommending that the Protestant march last Sunday go through weeks before the final decision was allegedly made. And the most contentious of northern Ireland's nearly 3,000 annual Protestant marches are still to come.
