It happened at 8:40.
Authorities searched for more than an hour for a Green ford vehicle spotted by witnesses.
State Police say they caught up with a suspect-. The man is in custody at this hour.
Police have not yet released the victim's identity.

A Henry County couple remains hospitalized, both in critical condition after an apparent domestic shooting.
Officers responded to a call at 204 Willow Court in Martinsville yesterday afternoon.
They found 54 year old Thelma Harris suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and stomach.
50 year old Lloyd Hairston had also been shot in the head.
Authorities found a rifle at the scene.
They returned to the scene today but have not released any additional information.
Both victims were airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Bettie Phillips says she thought the young fawn would look pretty that way.

Police found the deer in the back of a pickup truck after receiving an anonymous tip.
Phillips says she came across the fawn on the side of the road last week and wanted to adopt it.
The woman says she doesn't understand the charges.
She said if it is okay to pierce a little girl's ears, it should be all right to pierce a deer's.
The fawn was taken to a wildlife center in Harrisonburg where it's receiving antibiotics for its infected ears.
Otherwise it is in good shape.

A nice crowd was in the yard on an unusually pleasant July evening in Southside.
In the first, Braves' pitcher Derrick Lewis helps the Princeton cause by throwing the wild pitch and giving Eric Benavidez the opportunity to score from third. 1-to-nothing Rays.
Danville would get its act together in the third with two runs. Troy Cameron grounds out to third but still manages to get a teammate home on the fielder's choice. 2-to-1 Braves.
Then in the fourth, Anthony Brooks comes up with a sacrifice fly to center to get the 3rd run home to make it a 2 run Danville cushion.

Still in the fourth, Jose Villar hits a double down the left field line and the Braves dominate the middle innings to take the 6 to 1 win over Princeton.

The man with the 98 mile an hour fastball struck out nine Tigers in six and two thirds innings and allowed just five hits and two runs.

and last night he is free on a $68 hundred dollar bond after being charged with driving under the influence and fleeing police in Georgia.
The Walton County Sheriff's Office says the 29 year old running back was clocked at 133 miles in his Ferrari before crashing the car into a tree last weekend.
Redskins officials declined to comment, except to say they're glad Allen wasn't seriously injured.
The team opens training camp late next week.

Kelly Robbins is tied with Redman after shooting a 3 under 68 of her own, that also included near perfection on the 13th hole.
Two time defending Open champ Annika Sorenstam ballooned to a 77 today.

This was the mannequin's first day on the job.
He spent the afternoon running radar just outside Christiansburg.
Marrs says speeding is the biggest complaint he hears but says his staff can only do so much.
