An alledged hit and run accident has claimed the life of a Bedford County
man.

The 42- year- old man was riding his bicycle on Route 4-60 near the Terrace
Restaurant when he was struck by a car. Authorities searched for more than
an hour for a green ford vehicle spotted by witnesses.
State Police say they caught up with a suspect-. The man is now in custody.
Police have not yet released the victim's identity.

Soldiers' families in Danville say they sensed the situation was heating up.

If you've had your fill of explosions or aliens..or both, "Ulee's Gold"
provides a nice change.
Peter Fonda, in a welcome return to the screen, is Ulee, a reclusive
beekeeper who has custody of his two granddaughters because their father is in
jail, and their mother deserted them.
Ulee himself is mourning his dead wife, but tries to take care of the girls
the best he can.
When their mother shows up strung out on drugs she brings with her trouble
from the past that puts Ulee's family in danger.
He reluctantly accepts help from a neighbor, Patricia Richardson from "Home
Improvement", a helpful and sympathetic nurse.
This "honey" of a movie gets a B+.
It is a bit slow paced because the camera loves those Florida swamps.

It is too bad that there has been so much hype for the "Men in Black".
Nothing could measure up. But the movie really is more cleaver than the usual
spoof. It works well primarily for the contrasting styles of the two leads.
Tommy Lee Jones is droll and stony faced while Will Smith is Mr. Cool.
Smith is recruited by Jones to work for a super secret organization M-I-B or
Men in Black.
These guys go around monitoring the activities of aliens, making sure they
behave themselves on earth and blasting them with a variety of firepower when
they do not.
An alien assassination puts the Earth in danger of extinction and only Smith
and Jones can save the day.
This one is fun. It gets an A-. Sometimes the movie gets awfully squishy,
but it's perfect hot weather entertainment.

accident last night.
