Some new questions are being raised
about the rifle believed to have killed Martin Luther King.
A judge in Memphis says an expert has found that the bullet that killed the
civil rights leader doesn't match some bullets fired from the alleged murder
weapon in May.
The expert was hired by lawyers for James Earl Ray, who are hoping to get
him a new trial. He's been in prison for the 1968 slaying after confessing to
it, but he later recanted.
They're asking for a new round of tests -- and they want the
test bullets fired by the F-B-I soon after King's death to be
turned over for examination.
Those requests are the subject of a hearing today in Memphis, Tennessee.
