Virginia state police have arrested three half brothers and a teenage girl
who drove from Georgia after allegedly committing a murder.
The youngsters refused to stop for a state trooper directing traffic on
Morgans Ford Road in Henry County this weekend.
The trooper then linked the license plate to a stolen car.

Greer to a Georgia park Friday night.

old girl, and a 15 year old boy now face murder and robbery charges.

A big appetite got a Great White Shark into big trouble--it's believed to be
the largest shark ever caught.

The shark was caught today near Port Lincoln in South Australia after it
chewed its way into a tuna breeding cage.
It weighs a ton and a half and measures almost 20 feet.
The shark was shot dead by a diver after it made a meal of a number of fish
in the tuna cage.
It is now on display in a freezer and is likely to be used for
scientific research.

You should use a sunscreen with an SPF factor of at least 15, and don't
skimp.
If you don't apply enough, the protection level can drop as low as 6.
Doctors say it takes about a palm-full to completely protect a child.
Finally, for continued protection, you should re-apply sunscreen every two
hours.

Hermia Kamalodeen is a breast cancer patient who has just undergone a new
test called a Miraluma Scan.
Compared to a mammogram she says the test was a piece of cake.
HERMIA KAMALODEEN/CANCER PATIENT: YOU JUST KEEP LYING THERE. NOBODY IS PUSHING
YOU OR PULLING YOU AROUND--
WHICH IS FAR BETTER THAN THE OLD MAMMOGRAM.
Her doctors at New York's Coney Island Hospital are using the miraluma
scan because they are concerned that cancer had returned to her right breast.
If the Miraluma test is negative it will spare Hermia more surgery.
THIS IS THE AREA IN QUESTION-- THIS IS THE RIGHT BREAST.
When cancer is present it shows up as a dark spot on the miraluma
scan.
For Hermia the news is good...the breast is clear.
HER OTHER BREAST IS CLEAN. HER LYMPH NODES --BOTH SIDES AROUND WHICH ARE CLEAN.
SO, WE CONFIDENTLY WILL READ THIS AS NO RECURRENCE AT THIS TIME."
The Miraluma Scan is the first nuclear medicine test approved by the
F-D-A- for breast imaging.
It uses a radioactive tracer which is injected...if there are cancer cells
present the radioactive tracer will be picked up by them and appear as a dark
spot on a picture of the breast.

One thing women need to understand the Miraluma test will not replace
mammography it's really to be used in women who have dense breasts.
Those are breasts that make cancer detection by mammography alone very
difficult.
DR. HEMALATHA RAO/NUCLEAR MEDICINE SPECIALIST/CONEY ISLAND HOSPITAL:
THERE COULD BE SOME HIDING BEHIND THE DENSE BREAST WHICH YOU ARE
UNABLE TO DETECT ON A MAMMOGRAM YOU CAN BE TESTED BY THE BEST MAMMOGRAPHER AND
MISS THE LESION.
Dr. Rao is careful to point out that the test is to be used along with
a clinical examination and a mammogram because it cannot find a lump smaller
than a centimeter. She also says the miraluma test itself does not diagnose
breast cancer...only a biopsy can do that.
But if all indicators suggest
there is no cancer a breast biopsy can be avoided and the test can be
repeated again in three to six months.
NOW THAT WE HAVE THIS TEST THERE'LL BE A SIGNIFICANT DROP IN THE NUMBER OF
BIOPSIES WHICH ARE DONE ON SUSPICIOUS MAMMOGRAMS.
Right now only a few hospitals are using the miraluma scan...but now
that the test is approved, more institutions will likely begin to incorporate
it into their fight against breast cancer.
