Four youngsters from Georgia face murder and robbery charges after refusing
to stop for police this weekend.
They were headed to Henry County after allegedly killing an 18-year-old man
in Georgia Friday night.

The group was heading to Henry County because the three boys share the same
father. He lives in Henry County and says he's just been released after 14
years in prison. But this man is not only the father of these three Georgia
boys. He is also the father of Michael Stokes, who allegedly broke into a
house last month and engaged in a shootout with the homeowner.
An assault charge was dismissed today in the case a high school basketball
coach accused of hitting one of his players.
Coach Paul Barnard has been a phys-ed teacher and coach at William Byrd
High School for 24 years.
He'd avoided public comment on the assault charge, until the judge threw
out the case this afternoon.

One Thursday evening in late May Billy Belcher went to the school to pick
up his twin boys- -both basketball players.
Belcher and the Coach got into a heated argument over what Belcher says is a
theft problem in the team locker room.
The coach testified that Belcher knocked him to the floor... a blow that
required medical attention.

Belcher was on probation at the time- -from a 1995 embezzlement conviction
in Bedford county.

Judge George Harris found sufficient evidence to convict Belcher of
assaulting Coach Barnard but he did not find impose a conviction, as long as
the twins have quit the team and Billy Belcher intends to resign as President
of the basketball boosters club.

An accident with a front-end loader has killed its driver.
The accident happened this afternoon off of Sweet Annie Drive in Floyd
62-year-old Allen Junior Nichols was apparently using the loader to remove
the top of a small house.
The vehicle rolled over trapping him underneath.

Authorities say Nichols died at the scene.
The suspect in an armed bank robbery in Bland County is still at large.
State police say a man armed with a revolver entered the First Virginia Bank
in Rocky Gap around noon.
He's described as a white male-- about five foot ten with medium brown
hair-- and a brown mustache.
He left the bank in a late model white Chevy Cavalier.
Authorities believe he may have been headed for West Virginia.
Bedford County authorities say they'll be turning up the heat on area drug
dealers this summer, and they're getting some four- legged help to do it.
