Four young people will stand trial in Georgia after Virginia state police
arrested them for allegedly murdering an 18-year-old man Friday night.

Ratcliff says he is turning his life around after spending 14 years in
Now his 19-year-old son, Wayne Curtis Shaw, may serve time on charges of
murder and robbery.
Ratcliff is also father to Michael Stokes, arrested last week for breaking
into a house and allegedly shooting at the homeowner.
Ratcliff says he only recently met Michael.

Ratcliff says he never asked Wayne Curtis Shaw whether he committed the
murder Friday night.

Lynchburg police are looking for clues and a suspect in the city's first
homicide in nearly seven months.

flight training were responsible for a fatal plane crash in Giles County last

Keith, they include better testing of stall warning systems, improvements

A Blacksburg police officer is named in a federal lawsuit alleging excessive
Horace L. Falls, Junior says officer C- D Cummings threw him into a wall and
then handcuffed him in a rough manner outside a restaurant two years ago.
Falls says his wife told the officer he suffered from seizures but claims
Cummings refused to loosen the handcuffs.
Falls says he suffered a seizure later at the police department but says the
officers did NOT care for him.
The town of Blacksburg and a security guard at Montgomery Regional Hospital
are also named in the suit.

Fire heavily damaged a townhouse near Forest this afternoon.
Crews from four fire departments were called to the Valleywood Townhouses
The first to arrive found one of the townhomes engulfed in flames.
Firefighters quickly started working to keep the blaze from spreading.
