27 year old Cunanan is charged in the May shooting death of a cemetery
caretaker in New Jersey. And federal prosecutors say he's linked to murders in
three other states.

had an encounter with Cunanan and they all suffered an untimely death.

versace inside the truck. A distinguishing mark on the bullet
apparently made by cunanan himself match marks found on slugs taken
from others believed murdered by Cunanan.

The Pittsylvania County fire department reports four others-

1:30 and 2:00 this afternoon.

State police and investigators from three counties say they've put a major
cocaine dealer behind bars.
44-year old Tonie Richmond of North Carolina is in Halifax County jail on
250-thousand dollars bond.
He faces charges of distributing cocaine after a team of investigators

They seized his truck, several grams of cocaine, and guns from his mobile

Link says Richmond has been a major cocaine supplier to Halifax and southern

Convicted murderer Michael Knowles makes his third and most serious attempt
at hurting himself- this time from inside his jail cell.
The Christiansburg man, sentenced last week to life in prison for killing
his wife, stabbed himself in the neck.
Sheriff's officials say the wound required a couple of stitches.
He apparently cut himself with part of the wrist band on his watch Monday
During his jury trial he tried to cut his neck with part of a disposable
And, just last week, he tried to stab himself with a pencil.
Knowles was taken to a state mental hospital.
While there are only about 15 apartments in downtown Roanoke, there are
scores of vacant buildings prime for residential development.

Henry County will take a big step to attract new industry.
Its board of supervisors announced it'll buy 750 acres- That'll nearly
triple the size of the existing Beaver Creek Industrial Park.
The site will cost over four-million dollars.
It will be financed through tax exempt bonds.
Right now Beaver Creek is nearly at capacity, with only 16 acres available.
A preliminary plan for the new land calls for 16 new lots.

The Lynchburg Hillcats won their game last night, but their announcer may
have been the bigger winner.
On Monday we told you that Hillcats' public address announcer Chuck Young was
a finalist to become the public address announcer at Scott Stadium for UVa
football this Fall.
Last night he got the job.
Young who is a textbook supply clerk for Amherst Co. schools beat 63 other
candidates for the job.

That's because Smokey is one GIANT cat.
This feline monstrosity tips the scales at 42 pounds.
Lucien Plummer has raised Smokey for eleven years, and can't find a
veterinarian who can explain his gargantuan size.
Diet is NOT an issue, he eats no more than a normal cat-- well maybe a few
extra mice here and there.
According to Plummer, big cats run in Smokey's family. He has a brother
that's 36 pounds and a sister that weighs in at 18 pounds.
