Good Evening, This NEWS-7 Primetime on WEFC.
I'm Connie Stevens.
Frank (hell-vuh-steen) Helvestine is finally owning up to his part in a
murder that took place more than twenty years ago.
The 76-year Roanoke County man is expected to enter a guilty plea Monday,
rather than face a jury the next day.
He has admitted giving Russell Saunders White, Junior, a piece of pipe, some
blasting caps and a five-minute fuse.
Just such explosives ignited a car bomb and fire in 1975, killing two-year
old Carrie Mask.
White is dead, but Helvestine could get up to 25 years in prison for his
part in the arson and manslaughter.
In the last days of his life, Andrew Cunanan was desperately trying to obtain
