Now it appears he's worked out a deal with the prosecutor in Roanoke County.
Frank Helvestine (HELL-VUH-STEEN) the Third is expected to plead guilty
Monday to manslaughter and arson.
The 76 year old suspect told police that he gave a friend a piece of pipe, a
fuse and some blasting caps in 1975.
He thinks Russell Saunders White, Junior actually PLANTED the bomb that
killed a two- year old girl.
They were trying to scare a woman out of an inter-racial relationship by
setting off the pipe bomb beneath her car.
The woman was uninjured, but Carry Mask was killed and two other people
suffered serious burns.
White died in 1988, but Helvestine faces up to 25 years in prison.
Some Vinton residents are moving out of a flood zone- thanks to the help of
Tonight residents residents heard about the long awaited plan.

agencies and FEMA--the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
It'll give Midway residents the fair market value for their homes and help

In Wisconsin, the Madson family remembered their murdered son.

A Bedford County teen is hospitalized after a head-on collision on route
13-year old Crystal Johnson is in critical condition tonight at Carilion
Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Johnson suffered head injuries and cuts to the face after the vehicle she
was in was hit head-on by a pickup truck.
Police say 60-year old Buford Parker may have fallen asleep at the wheel
and drifted into oncoming traffic.
Parker suffered a broken leg.
He's charged with reckless driving.
Crystal Johnson's uncle, Michael Johnson was not injured in the crash.
