He was convicted of the 19-85 rape and murder of a Virginia Beach woman.

Police in Miami Beach confirm that a body found on a houseboat last night is Cunanan's.
The houseboat is less than three miles from where Cunanan allegedly gunned down designer Gianni Versace last week.
Police say Cunanan shot himself. Police and F-B-I agents had swarmed the location last night after a caretaker reported hearing a shot inside.
Cunanan's body was found after a SWAT team threw tear gas into the houseboat.
