United Parcel Service faces a midnight strike deadline.
We'll open News-7 at SIX tonight with a look at the potential impact of a
shut-down at the nation's biggest shipper.
The only thing more certain than death and taxes may be rising bank fees.
We'll look into changes in all three.
In sports, former Virginia tech quarterback Jim Druckenmiller strikes gold

He and others had record breaking days.
Another night of record lows? Stay tuned, the forecast is a chilly one!

The murders of three young Spotsylvania County girls are now considered the
work of a serial killer.
Investigators today confirmed that the cases have been linked... through
evidence collected from the three victims: 16-year-old Sofia Silva, 15-year-old

The good news for Democrat Don Beyer is that he's in a statistical dead heat
with Jim Gilmore in the race for governor.
The bad news for Beyer is that when voters know more about his campaign
promises... a significant number prefer Jim Gilmore.
In our latest NEWS 7/Mason-Dixon poll, 45 percent of voters are unsure
which candidate's tax cut and spending plan they prefer.
32 percent say they like Gilmore's.
23 percent say they like Beyer's.
But when given more information, 55 percent say they like a plan like the
one Gilmore's proposing.
27 percent are still unsure.
And after hearing the details, only 18 percent would pick Beyer's tax cut
and spending priorities.

Overall, Virginia voters we polled think the next governor should place a
higher priority on cutting taxes than spending more on education and police.

Big Virginia bank mergers are bad business for bank customers.
That's the message today from the U-S Public Interest Research Group and the

Farmers have complained the inheritance tax is a burden and sometimes drives
a family out of the business.
New legislation will eventually increase the previous 600-thousand dollar
exemption to one-point-three million dollars.
