the four engine jet first hit the edge of an empty lot. then skidded across
the street, slamming into some buildings.
local television showed cars on fire, buildings damaged, and firefighters
struggling to contain the flames.

officials say the jet was registered to fine air, a big cargo carrier serving
latin america.
ironically, just yesterday the company had started offering stock to the
public.
this is the second big cargo crash in eight days...coming just after a federal
express jumbo jet crashed at newark international airport.
the national transportation safety board is sending a team of investigators
from washington to look into the cause of this latest crash.
