The children of a Danville woman shot near her home yesterday say they have
no idea who would want to hurt their mother.
47-year-old Mary Elizabeth Martin is in critical condition; she was shot in
the head and relatives say she has lost her vision in one eye.
Martin stopped her van just down the street from her house last night to
check a flat tire.
Her 7-year-old son Daniel was in the van.
Police say as Martin stepped out of the vehicle, a man came up behind her
and shot her several times in the head, then shot Daniel in the ankle.
Daniel has been treated and released from the hospital.

She says she wanted to hear his responses to her complaints to the State Bar
before revealing her alleged proof.
In those allegations, she alleges he exposed his boxer shorts to her and
made sexual advances, among other things.
The Bar has sent her a letter indicating it is still actively investigating.
