Residents of Atkins Virginia had to be evacuated last night after a fire
started in a warehouse filled with plastics.

The blaze has been contained at the Marley Moulding plant, but the smoke
from the fire is laced with cyanide.
Authorities from the state police say the gas levels are not dangerous, but
say the evacuation was ordered as a precaution.
Motorists are encouraged not to stop along Interstate 81 near the plant, and
Route Eleven has been closed.
A-half dozen people have been treated for smoke inhalation.

For the first time women are participating in the grueling training regime.
The "in your face" training is meant to test the cadets' physical and mental
endurance.
The training is tough; on average a quarter of the cadets drop out in a
typical year.
Two men already dropped out this
week.
But all 30 female cadets remain.
Yesterday, the woman appeared to be the target of rival school prank.
Some thirty dead rats were left on the school's parade grounds, next to them
was a towel on which someone wrote Save the Males.
School officials believe it was the work of students from neighboring
Washington and Lee.

Meantime, campus police had to deal with some real life rats yesterday
morning.
Thirty dead rats were left on the school's parade grounds,-- next to them
was a towel printed with the slogan SAVE THE MALES.
It's believed the rats were left as a prank by students from Washington and
Lee.

last night.

Charles E. Thomas-
He's charged with robbery in (Fa-KEER) Fauquier County.

A resident near the area spotted a man fitting the suspect's description and
called police.
