For the first time women are participating in the grueling training regime.
The "in your face" training is meant to test the cadets' physical and mental
endurance.
The training is tough; on average a quarter of the cadets drop out in a
typical year.
Two men already dropped out this
week.
But all 30 female cadets remain.
Yesterday, the woman appeared to be the target of rival school prank.
Some thirty dead rats were left on the school's parade grounds, next to them
was a towel on which someone wrote Save the Males.
School officials believe it was the work of students from neighboring
Washington and Lee.

Company officials estimate the walkout cost U-P-S five percent of its

While at Wilderness Adventure camp kids learn Native American skills as part
of their training.
They are taught plant identification, rope making as well as fire by
friction...the old rubbing things together to start a fire really does work.
The cost for kids at Wilderness adventure is 595 dollars per week and
everything is included.
It's located outside New Castle just off route 615.
And kids aren't the only ones who can benefit from the self confidence
oriented training.
Even the Staff at V-M-I heads over to the camp for a team work retreat before
the start of the new year.
Coming up next I'm going to do a little rock climbing with the nine and ten-
year- old campers.

husband and wife who died within minutes of each other Tuesday night.

Police say 92- year- old Lloyd Smith found his 84- year- old wife in the
bathroom of their Clayton Avenue home.
Augusta Smith apparently had died of natural causes.
Her husband went next door to ask a neighbor for help, but fell down outside
the house, hitting his head on the driveway.
That's where the neighbor found him in the morning.
An autopsy will be performed today, but police believe Smith died from the
head injury.
