A Staunton man underwent surgery after he was sucked into the propeller of a
boat that was pulling him on an inner tube near Parkersburg, West Virginia.
Authorities are withholding the name of the 39- year- old man until his
family is notified.

said the accident occurred last night on the Ohio River.

In June the Convention passed a resolution, urging its members to boycott
Disney products or T-V shows and movies.
Falwell says his church will consider a similar resolution at a conference
of pastors next month.
Falwell objects to two shows on A-B-C, which is owned by Disney: "Ellen",
and a program set to air this fall, called "Nothing Sacred."

So far, 31 men and women have dropped out of the freshman class at
Virginia Military Institute.

School Spokesman Mike Strickler says three women and 28 men have dropped out
since school began two weeks ago.
Strickler would not identify the latest female to leave, but said it wasn't
the woman who complained a few days ago about being singled out.
This is the first year V-M-I has admitted women- after the Supreme Court
ruled it had to as long as it received state funding.
