Good Evening, I'm Connie Stevens, sitting in tonight for Jean Jadhon.
Mother Teresa died today in Calcutta after years of illnesses that took her in and out of hospitals.
She was 87 years old.
Lee Cowan reports it was just a few days ago when we last heard from the woman many people considered a living Saint.

((
It was just Sunday a very frail Mother Teresa expressed her sadness about the death of Princess Diana. MOTHER TERESA: SHE HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR THE POOR.
She could have been talking about herself.
The eighty-seven year old Roman Catholic nun devoted her life to helping the downtrodden, winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her service to the poor. PRESIDENT CLINTON: LIKE EVERYONE WHO EVER MET HER I WAS PROFOUNDLY MOVED BY HER CONVICTION.
Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious order whose members comforted the destitute, sheltered abandoned infants, soothed the ulcers of lepers and took care of the insane.
She created a global network for the poor, including one of the first homes for AIDS victims. Sisters of Charity around the world prayed for her soul.
Hers was a powerful voice for conservative values. She travelled as an envoy for Pope John Paul ll, arguing passionately against abortion, contraception and divorce.
Mother Teresa had heart problems for many years, yet the news of her death, just days after Princess Diana's, left admirers around the world stunned.
Less than three months ago, the two women met in New York and shared their common interest in aiding people who needed help. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT ETC REPORTER STANDUP
Mother Teresa died at her convent in Calcutta.
Her doctor said Her heart, which held up for all those years, suddenly gave way.
