((First, the good news. Traffic is once again flowing freely along the
Hershberger Road ramp onto 581 in Roanoke.
So, if you take that exit there's no need to leave early or make that U-turn
onto the southbound ramp anymore.
But, in other parts of Roanoke County, the news is not so good.
Work to widen Route 613 and fix underground drainage pipes along Route 907
begins tomorrow.
The construction is slated to continue until September 10th, but until then
Route 907 or Ranchcrest Drive will be shut down to through traffic.

Also, in Bedford County-- there will be some delays due to resurfacing on
route 24.
Now for a re-cap of some on-going problems around the region you'll want to
be aware of..
Construction is continuing on Route 460 in Christiansburg.
Avoid the area if you can, if you can't you'll run into possible delays.

Also, construction along route 220 near the Roanoke Franklin County line
continues to cause major delays. If you plan to take this route leave early.))

The first test flight of the F-22 advanced stealth fighter was a success
today.
(----------------)
VO-NAT
SUPER=03-Marietta, GA
After more than three months of delay the stealth fighter took an hour long
flight in Georgia.
The "rapture" as it is being called will replace aging F-15's.
The new plane is faster, needs less support by other aircraft and has a
computerized cockpit to improve pilot's reactions in combat.
The stealth fighter will need more practice runs before it is actually ready
for combat.
More than four hundred of the jets are expected to be built by 2010.
And if all goes as planned the first F-22 stealth is expected to be ready
for combat in 2004.
