A single car accident has left one person critically injured in Campbell County.

Police say the car veered off the road and struck a tree... the female driver was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries.
Her condition is not known.
A male passenger in the car was not hurt, but was charged at the scene with being drunk in public.
State police are investigating the wreck.

Tennesse and Virginia have come to an agreement when it comes to the right to carry weapons.

Instead of studying pottery...his team of scientists get knee deep in a pile of garbage to get information on every aspect of life.
Rathje says in the last forty years he's detailed positive changes in the county's trash cans. Like going from glass bottles to plastic which take less space in the landfill.

Nearly one of every four public high school graduates who entered state colleges in the fall of 19-95 needed remedial work.
That's according to a report released yesterday by the State Council of Higher Education.
The council found that about eleven percent of private high school grads needed remedial work in English, reading or math.
The state spends almost 25 million dollars a year on remedial classes.
The council's report found that more than 90 percent of remedial education occurs in community colleges rather than four-year schools.

Murphy is a Mexican citizen.
