A single car accident has left one person critically injured in Campbell County.

Police say the car veered off the road and struck a tree... the female driver was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries.
Her condition is not known.
A male passenger in the car was not hurt, but was charged at the scene with being drunk in public.

Nearly one of every four public high school graduates who entered state colleges in the fall of 19-95 needed remedial work.
That's according to a report released yesterday by the State Council of Higher Education.
The council found that about eleven percent of private high school grads needed remedial work in English, reading or math.
The state spends almost 25 million dollars a year on remedial classes.
The council's report found that more than 90 percent of remedial education occurs in community colleges rather than four-year schools.

Murphy is a Mexican citizen.
