Preliminary research shows the drugs seemed to damage the heart, specifically the heart valves.

Ever since they burst on the market, dexfenfluramine or redux-- or fenfluramine-- half of the fen-phen cocktail have been widely successful in helping those who have serious weight problems. and they brought in millions for the two companies which manufacture the drugs.

The voluntary recall is based on the hope that larger and more detailed studies-- show the drugs are safe. there is a chance the drugs will be back on the market -- but not anytime soon. FDA: OBVIOUSLY... KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT.
Prescriptions of the drugs have plunged since the first sign of problems back in July.
