The Mariners picked up the option year on the "Big Unit's" current deal yesterday, which means he will be under contract with Seattle through 1998.

As Saints and head coach Mike Ditka announced that Heath Shuler will remain the team's starting quarterback.

This afternoon 20 Chevrolet truck teams took over the track for a day's worth of testing.
Bobby Hamilton is one driver who will be driving in both events next weekend.
But most eyes will be fixed on the number 24 truck driven by Jack Sprague, the series points leader.
Sprague comes into Martinsville with a 95 point cushion on Rich Bickle in the Darrell Waltrip owned Die Hard machine.
Bickle would love to have the lead, but he's honestly just glad to be alive these days.
