Five out of six tobacco warehouses in Danville are facing stiff fines for
allegedly selling too much tobacco.

Six years ago, Harry Lea had suspicions about a dealer selling him tobacco.
But state and local agencies said Cecil Humphries checked out-- and doing
business with him was well within the law.
Since then, that dealer has been convicted of conspiracy and money
laundering-- leaving Lea with a six-figure fine for selling the man's tobacco.
Lea blames the Department of Agriculture for not catching Humphries through
his weekly reports.

Prince William County authorities say 39-year old Michael Alan Jett is a
"viable suspect" in the slayings of Sofia Silva and sisters Kristen and Kati
THe bodies of the Lisk sisters were found in a River.
Eight months earlier, Silva's body was discovered in a creek.
Samples were taken from Jett after he reportedly talked to another inmate
about the girls.
The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Department says Jett is just one of
thousands of leads.
In July, Jett was arrested on charges of abduction, sexual battery and
attempted sodomy in a separate case in Prince William County.
The U-S Justice Department wants to know all about the suspension of a
female rat at Virginia Military Institute.

Lisa Hackney heard about the offer last week-- when her husband brought home
a flier from work-- stating that Gerber was offering savings bonds to children
born between 1985 and 1997-- to settle a class action lawsuit.
But Hackney-- was cautious-- and contacted the Better Business Bureau.

behind what's happening.
But police say-- you should never give out that information.

name somehow became connected with a "price fixing" lawsuit involving three
makers of infant formula.

A lawsuit filed by two Texas women who used the diet drug combination with
fenfluramine-phentermine could become a class-action suit.
The women allege the diet drugs' dangers were hidden or ignored.
The suit was filed yesterday, a day after the Food and Drug Administration
ordered the withdrawal of both fenfluramine, as well as dexfenfluramine, also
known as Redux.
Another study says doctors are overprescribing antibiotics-- and it could
have serious implications for the nation's health.
The Journal of the American Medical Association reports doctors wrote 12
million antibiotic prescriptions in a single year.
Many are for colds, bronchitis and other respiratory infections-- for
which the drugs are almost always useless.
