(( It started around 11:30 last night when police say this blue Olds Achieva struck another car on Memorial Avenue in Lynchburg and left the scene.
An officer spotted it near Fifth Street, but when he tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver sped off.

The two occupants, a man and a woman, were thrown from the vehicle and killed instantly.
Investigators from Lynchburg, Amherst County and the Virginia state police converged on the scene, and spent four hours photographing and recording evidence from where the car hit the guardrail, bounced off and came to a halt after striking a parked car nearby.
Police chief Charles Bennett says an investigation is underway, but preliminary reports indicate the police officer acted properly.

Hundreds of jobs hang in the balance in the advent of restructuring at a major plant in Narrows.
The mayor of Narrows estimates at least half of the town's labor force works at what everybody there has always called the Celanese plant.
Union leaders at the plant say Celco has alerted them that as many as 500 hourly jobs could be affected by some kind of cost- cutting move.
Right now Celco has about 13-hundred hourly employees.
