Tonight police are trying to figure out exactly what happened.
The 9-1-1 call came in at around three this afternoon-

Police responded to the Day Avenue address finding 39 year old Linwood Austin stabbed to death in an upstairs apartment.
A downstairs neighbor called police after she heard a thump and later saw blood leaking through her ceiling.
The neighbor also said that the man had frequent visitors.

Mark Martin won the pole position during qualifying this afternoon with a late run that knocked Jeff Gordon to the outside of the first row.

Gordon was the ninth car on the track and he immediately set the pace with a lap at 151 point 783 miles an hour.
Dale Jarrett was the fastest in the morning practice session, but he was almost three tenths of a second slower than Jeff.
Mark was the 35th driver on the track and he won the pole with a lap at 152 point 033 miles an hour.
