The fire started in the basement and quickly destroyed the house.
The owner's girlfriend was home when the fire started-- she was taken to
Franklin Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
Investigators won't fully investigate the cause until later in the week,
when the fire stops smoldering.

Edwards feels the definition is too broad-- that many non-emergency calls

She sued her employer, the Scott-Gallaher company, when she was fired after
becoming pregnant.
She said they told her having a child would make her "unreliable."
A judge ruled against her at the first trial, but the Virginia Supreme Court
said the judge was wrong and ordered a new one.
