Plans to open a new all-male military school in the South are drawing
support from a secessionist organization that wants to create a new Southern
nation.
The group called League of the South says it can envision turning out
leaders in the tradition of Robert E- Lee and Stonewall Jackson.
In the wake of women at The Citadel and V-M-I, some alumni from those
schools are already trying to raise 50 million dollars for a private Christian,
Confederate military college.
One of the sites that's been mentioned is the old Augusta Military Academy

people believe will be its toughest

On October first, the two- year- old program expands to southwest Virginia.
The region typically has 20 percent or higher unemployment.
Except for coal mines, there are few jobs, and there's no public
transportation to carry people from their rural homes to work.
Welfare reform requires able-bodied people to find jobs in 90 days or enter
community service.
Benefits end in two years.
