Charges have been dropped against a Danville man for allegedly shooting a
police officer last November.
Police say 29-year old Marlowe Andre Farmer shot and injured Officer Dennis
Haley during a drug raid.
Commonwealth's Attorney Bill Fuller says Farmer will not be tried in
circuit court because a FEDERAL jury has already heard testimony of the
shooting, when it convicted Farmer on drug charges.
Fuller says a federal judge will consider the shooting when Farmer is
sentenced in October.

Now nearly 40 and the mother of two, Naomi has struggled with her
weight since childhood ... trying countless diets and drugs, traumatizing her
whole family in the process... including younger brother Robert Weitzner,now a
psychiatrist.
It was when another doctor put her on phen/fen that Robert got involved.
DR WEITZNER: I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY APPREHENSIVE ABOUT USING IT EVEN
BEFORE THE HEART VALVE ABNORMALITIES CAME OUT.
He suggested naomi stop taking the fenfluramine ... the component of
the phen/fen combination that has come under fire and switch to an
anti-depressant similar to prozac called Zoloft.
Now she is taking that drug
and the appetite suppressant phentermine ... a combination she says changed her
life.

In three years, naomi has lost close to 100 pounds ... which inspired
her brother to devote himself to helping others try to lose weight by using the
combination of an appetite suppressant and an antidepressant... a
combination that has come to be known as phen/pro.
DR WEITZNER:I WOULD RECOMMEND IT FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE A BINGING DISORDER,
