Traffic on Interstate 81 was tied-up for hours earlier this morning after a tractor-trailor wrecked.
It was carrying toluene -- (TOL-u-ene) a hazardous materials.

State police say the driver of the double tractor-trailer took his eyes off the road to make a log notation.
He then lost control of the rig and smashed into the guardrail and turned over.
Rescue workers transported the driver and a passenger to Roanoke Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
The hazardous cargo did NOT leak from the tanker.
But a haz-mat team was called to the scene to clean up a diesel fuel leak and supervise the removal of the toluene.
The northbound lanes of I-81 remained closed for more than five hours while workers cleaned up the wreckage.
No other vehicles were involved.

Charges are pending against both parties involved.

State police say the driver of this pickup ran the stop sign near the intersection of Routes 670 and 501.
He was struck by a southbound van carrying two adults and their infant daughter.
All four people were taken to Lynchburg General Hospital... police say the parents will be charged for not restraining their child.
The pickup driver faces a charge of failing to yield the right of way.

Carey faces a new election because of the contribution, but has not been barred from that election, because election officials had no proof he knew about the illegal funds.
Today the New York Times reported that several of Carey's aids say he was aware of a scheme to send union money to political groups, which in turn, donated to Carey's campaign.
Carey's lawyer told the Times his client was not aware of the fundraising scheme.

Spectators were all set to watch a soccer game but during the pre-game show a skydiver and two other people died.
The skydivers parachute failed to open during the exhibition.
He hurtled into a crowd outside the stadium killing himself and two others immediately.

Ernie Irvan made a strong run early in the race leading the first 52 laps before Bickle took over.

Ridgeway's Jimmy Hensley gave his home town fans something to cheer about as he would finish fourth.
