The second Oklahoma City bombing trial begins tomorrow in Denver.
42-year-old Terry Nichols is charged with helping Timothy McVeigh blow up
the Oklahoma City Federal Building, allegedly stashing a getaway car at the
bomb site and helping McVeigh build the actual bomb.
Defense Attorneys say McVeigh's well publicized guilty verdict will make it
harder to select a jury.

Nichols lawyers are expected to put on a lengthy defense, arguing that even
if Nichols DID help McVeigh, he didn't know what McVeigh was doing.
Wildfires are once again spreading through California.

At least five thousand acres north of Sacramento California were scorched as
winds drove the flames through the Grass Valley area.
More than fourteen hundred firefighters are still working to contain the
blaze that began Saturday night.
At least a thousand people evacuated the area.

A Department of Agriculture spokeswoman says beef contaminated
with E. coli (ee KOH'-ly) turned up in an Emporia, Virginia supermarket.

But BeefAmerica says it doesn't believe the plant is the source
of the contamination.
Meat from the plant is not under recall. No illnesses have been
reported from the tainted beef.
A phone scam artist may be operating in Lynchburg.
Police say the person calls residents and claims to sell credit card

The woman who accused Marv Albert of assualting her is stepping forward.
Her identity was shielded during the trial, but Vanessa Purhach has agreed
to make her name public, saying she has nothing to hide.
Albert faces up to a year in prison after pleading guilty to misdemeanor
assault and battery.
Legal experts doubt he'll do any jail time.
Meanwhile, a poll of New York sports fans shows Albert still has a lot of
72 percent said they would still watch a game called by Albert.
53 percent, though said NBC was right to fire him.
A man driving a log truck along route 501 in Halifax County died after he
hit a guardrail and flipped over, landing on top of a van.
The accident happened around 9-30 this morning just south of Brookneal.
The driver of the truck was 41-year-old Robin Dennis Lowe.
Two people were in the van that was hit; they were transported to Lynchburg
There is no word on their condition.
Part of Route 501 was blocked for several hours as police worked to remove
The accident is still under investigation.
Breckinridge Middle School is a familiar sight on Williamson Road, but you

A new cigar has Cuban cigar makers fuming.

The U.S. General Cigar Company launched its New Cohiba cigar in New York.
The company got U.S. rights to the name, even though Cuba has produced
Cohiba cigars since 1966.
Cuban officials are accusing the U.S. company of exploiting Cuba's inability
to enter the U.S. market because of the trade embargo.
The New Cohiba is made from tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic.
Some who sampled the cigar today said it's better than the cuban.
