One person is dead and two others taken to the hospital after the driver of a log truck hit a guardrail and flipped over, landing on top of a van.

The accident happened along Route 501 yesterday morning just south of Brookneal.
The driver of the truck, 41- year- old Robin Dennis Lowe died in the accident.
The two people were in the van that was hit were transported to Lynchburg General Hospital.
There is no word on their condition.

The accident is still under investigation.

A financial windfall is coming to Danville, that could create about 800 new jobs for local residents.
Housing Secretary Andrew Cuomo announced Friday that Danville will receive two million dollars in economic development assistance.
