They say the person calls residents and claims to sell credit card insurance.

Meat from the plant is not under recall. No illnesses have been reported from the tainted beef.

One person is dead and two others taken to the hospital after the driver of a log truck hit a guardrail and flipped over, landing on top of a van.

The accident happened along Route 501 yesterday morning just south of Brookneal.
The driver of the truck, 41- year- old Robin Dennis Lowe died in the accident.
The two people were in the van that was hit were transported to Lynchburg General Hospital.
There is no word on their condition.

The accident is still under investigation.

A new secret recording points to partisan activities by the Christian Coalition.
The speaker at a recent political training session held by the group in Fairfax urged opposition to Democratic candidate for governor Don Beyer.
The Washington Post got a copy of the tape.
Earlier this month, coalition founder Pat Robertson was heard telling supporters in another secret taping that Democrats can't keep the White House

away."
The group claims a tax exemption as non-partisan.

Once again, Charlottesville billionaire John Kluge is near the top.
Kluge is ranked seventh this year with seven-point-eight- billion dollars.

A financial windfall is coming to Danville, that could create about 800 new jobs for local residents.
Housing Secretary Andrew Cuomo announced Friday that Danville will receive two million dollars in economic development assistance.
The money will help to expand the Riverview Industrial Park and to finance road construction and to extend water, sewer and gas lines.
