An accident in Halifax County took the life of one man after police say he
hit a guardrail and flipped his log truck, landing on top of a van.

The accident happened yesterday morning on route 501 just south of
Brookneal.
The driver of the truck was 41- year- old Robin Dennis Lowe.
The two people in the van that was hit were transported to the hospital.
There is no word on their condition.
Part of Route 501 was blocked for several hours as police worked to remove
both vehicles.
The accident is still under investigation.

Help, in the form of cash, will soon be on its way to Danville.
Housing Secretary Andrew Cuomo announced Friday that the city will receive
two million dollars in economic development assistance.
The money will help to expand the Riverview Industrial Park, creating
approximately 800 new jobs for local residents.
The money will also be used to finance road construction and to extend
water, sewer and gas lines for the 425-acre site.

joined the Mir crew.
