spending would have boosted the local economy.

Pat Robertson is being brought into the races for governor and attorney
general too.
State Democrats have launched a campaign to portray the G-O-P candidates as
conservative extremists tied to the religious right.
The effort includes a T-V ad that depicts Republican candidate for governor
Jim Gilmore as a puppet of Robertson.
The ad says the broadcaster has given Gilmore 100-thousand dollars for
campaigns in 19-93 and this year.
Gilmore denies that Robertson bought any influence with the contributions.
