28-million dollar expansion at what's now a truck tire plant.
The deal will enable Yokahama to begin manufacturing high- performance
radial tires for cars and R-V's.
Installing the new production line is expected to begin next July, and

The deal also means Salem will get a new Yokohama distribution center... and
an unspecified number of new jobs.

A neighbor with a garden hose helped save a trailer home from burning up
this morning.
That's according to firefighters.

The blaze broke out at about 10:30 at the Terry Court trailer park in
Lynchburg.
Neighbors spotted smoke coming from this mobile home and one grabbed a hose
to keep the blaze contained until fire crews could arrive.
The family renting the trailer was not home when the fire broke out.
Fire Marshal John Jennings says an electrical short in the cord of a curling
iron caught a chair on fire.
Damage was contained to the living room of the trailer.

Rees Jone underwent hours of surgery to treat his face and other injuries
