Firefighters were called to lot 209 at the Terry Court trailer park around 10:30.
The fire had started in the living room of the mobile home, but a nearby resident using a hose kept it contained until crews could arrive.
The family renting the trailer had just left a half hour earlier.
Fire marshal John Jennings says an electrical short in a curling iron caught a chair on fire.
The blaze then spread to the contents of the living room.
The rest of the trailer suffered smoke and water damage.
