A statue of a Confederate soldier is headed to Roanoke Valley after years at the Jones Memorial Library in Lynchburg.

The statue is of the library's namesake, George Morgan Jones, who fought for the South in the Civil War.
Recently, the Fincastle camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans bought the piece for 15- thousand dollars.
They intend to have it moved to the Hanging Rock battlefield in Roanoke County.
