((Terry Kirby has yet to strike gold with the 49ers. The former Virginia star
is still a back up holding firmly to a positive attitude.

But before his second season; Niner ownership sent Kirby a message when
Garrison Hearst was signed;. Hearst has earned the starting job. Against
Carolina; he scored a touchdown and rushed for 141 yards.

Terry averaged over five yards a carry and scored a touchdown in the Panther
game. He's even come to grips with the positives of not being the man.

The Charlotte Hornets and Muggsy Bogues have ended their preseason feud, at
least sort of.
last night Muggsy agreed to the Hornets' demand that he have an MRI test down
on his left knee before allowing him to practice.
Bogues went in for the test last night, but he also filed grievance against
the club with the player's union.
