Two teenagers charged with murder in Appomattox County were indicted by a
grand jury there today.

18- year- olds Brandon Wayne Hedrick and Trevor Andrew Jones are accused of
abducting, robbing and shooting Lisa Yvonne Crider to death in May.
Police say Hedrick confessed to shooting Crider in the head after she
reportedly stole drugs from him.
He's charged with murder in commission of a robbery, abduction and the use
of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Hedrick's trial is scheduled for the week of January 5th.. Jones will stand
trial in February.

Earlier this summer you may remember a story we brought you concerning Dan
Phillips, a former University of South Carolina swimmer who took part in the
olympic trials in 1996, but eventually ended up here in the valley

as the head swimming coach at Olympic Park pool.
Phillips, who also served as an assistant coach with the Marlins swim team,
failed in his attempt to make the '96 olympic team.
But is dream of going for the gold is far from dead.
He has now been accepted into the resident program for at least a year in
Colorado Springs.
United States swim team personnel believe Phillips has the potential to make
the olympic team in the year 2000, so he is now living in Colorado and training
with that goal in mind. If his times continue to improve he will continue
training there right up to the next Olympic games.
