One person was seriously injured in a single vehicle accident tonight.

The accident occured shortly before nine on Yellow Mountain Road in Roanoke County.
The driver lost control of his vehicle and drove over the embankment.
The car then became airborne and landed on Route 220 North.
Police have not released the driver's name, but his injuries appear to be serious.
Traffic was blocked on 220 for over two hours.

A Martinsville man is behind bars accused of an early morning murder.
Police say 24-year old James Antonio Hodge shot and killed Elmer Ray Hagwood shortly after midnight.
22-year old Hagwood was found dead on a street in Bassett.
Hodge is also charged with shooting 37-year old Harold Taylor in the arm.

Baltimore and Cleveland resumed the American League Championship Series tonight at Camden Yard.
The Indians would get on the board in the top of the first Manny Ramirez sent a Jimmy Key pitch over the centerfield wall for a two run homer to make it 2 to nothing Cleveland.
But the Orioles got it back in the bottom of the second. Cal Ripken goes down and gets the low pitch smoking it over the left field wall to tie it at 2 to 2.
Right now Cleveland has taken a 5-to-4 lead in the 8th after Marquis Grissom hit a three run home run.
