The battle was won by the twenty foot long killer whale believed to be a female. She didn't eat the shark but left it for a smaller whale, probably her baby. A researcher with an underwater camera captured pictures of the younger whale having lunch.
This battle might be called Free Willy meets Jaws...but in the real world of survival, the killer whale lived up to its name.
