A single car accident claimed the life of a man in Roanoke County last night.

The accident happened on Yellow Mountain Road in Roanoke County.
Police say Jacob Wickert lost control of his vehicle and drove over the embankment.
The car then became airborne and landed on Route 2-20 North.
Wickert died at the scene.
Traffic was blocked on 2-20 for over two hours.

Murder charges are the reason a Martinsville man is behind bars.
Police say 24- year- old James Antonio Hodge shot and killed Elmer Ray Hagwood shortly after midnight Wednesday.
Twenty-two- year- old Hagwood was found dead on a street in Bassett.
Hodge is also charged with shooting 37- year- old Harold Taylor in the arm.
