Welcome folks to Friday Football Extra. It is week number seven of our 14th season on the air, and tonight we begin the show with one of our all-time classic rivalries.
SS=BOTETOURT/ALLEGHANY

Lord Botetourt and Alleghany. In the past few years this matchup has been crying for someone like Doug Ward or Kenny Higgins to reappear and spice things up.
Tonight neither one of those made it to the sideline in Daleville, but Alleghany did come calling with its unbeaten record.

It was homecoming tonight in Daleville as Jennifer Kessler was crowned queen along with her King Brian Williams.
The Mounties had a 21-to-10 lead heading to the third, and Shannon Johnson give it to Terrell Givens on the inside reverse. He takes it into the house from 65 yards away to make it a 28-to-10 game in favor of Alleghany.
The Cavs attempted to slice into the advantage - Josh Aliveto caps a long drive by sneaking in from four yards to make it a 28-to-17 game.

The Mounties though were too much tonight as they remain unbeaten on the season with the 28-to-17 win over Lord Botetourt.

The odds were that the Spartans would not be denied again by Byrd's uprising, but that's why you play the game.
Byrd had to punt on its first possession from deep in its own territory, and Salem blocks the kick. The scramble is on! Byrd falls on it in the endzone for a safety. 2-to-nothing Salem.
Three plays after the free kick, sophomore running back Dennis Haley takes the handoff, go right goes to the sideline and then goes to the house for the 25 yard touchdown. It's 9-to-0 Salem.
SUPER=52-William Byrd/13/Salem/12;

The Terriers would try to get back in the contest with workhorse O.J. Thomason. He takes off up the gut, breaks tackles and scores to make it a 9-to-7 game. And Byrd comes back to do it again 13-to-12 Terriers.
