education including a proposal to extend the academic year in some elementary
schools.

Experts at the College of William and Mary say the state economy will
continue to grow for the rest of this year and then ease slightly in 19-98.
The school's Bureau of Business Research also predicts that Virginia
will add 642-thousand new jobs in the next ten years, a 20 percent increase.
The bureau says personal income in Virginia will rise five-point-nine
percent this year.
