It's been years in the making, but today the Commonwealth versus Earl Conrad Bramblett gets underway.
The evidence in the capital murder trial is as diverse as it is complex.
It promises to be the most bizarre and maybe the longest murder case ever tried in Roanoke County.

Three years ago, Teresa Hodges was found strangled.
Her husband and two young daughters were shot in the head, and the family's house set on fire.
Bramblett had been a friend of the family.
In fact, he practically LIVED at the Hodges home.
At one point Bramblett told police he was the last person to see the family alive.
Recently he claimed he was being framed by police.
All of the evidence is circumstantial, but there is a lot of it.
The attorneys will begin to pick a jury in the afternoon.
