Police say Harry Lilly was driving southbound on Mount Cross Road when he
swerved into the oncoming lane at about 4:30 a-m.
A milk truck hit Lilly head on.
The truck driver, 35-year-old Timothy (Herp) Hearp, was treated and released
from the hospital.
Rescue workers had to pry open the car to reach Lilly, who was still
conscious.
He was flown to Duke Hospital and died this afternoon.

Two officers were searching the area around Arnold's restaurant for
suspects, following a fatal shooting there.
Brown says the plain clothes officer had his weapon drawn and pointed in the
direction of the uniformed officer, who fired his weapon.
Brown says information gained during his investigation will be used to train
other officers.

The drive to build a national D-DAY memorial in Bedford has received a
1-million donation from Cartoonist Charles Schulz.
The creator of the comic strip "Peanuts" will personally serve as head of
the fund-raising campaign.
